2025 Wedding Colour Trends: A Celebration of Bold Individuality
As 2025 unfolds, wedding trends are taking a bolder and more expressive turn than ever before, with wedding colour palettes becoming more imaginative and dynamic to reflect the couple's individuality!
Drawing inspiration from the custom wedding orders that I've already received for 2025, I've compiled a list of what stands out as the top trending colour palettes for this year! (Colour palettes not in any particular order).
1. Bold Colours: Taking Centre Stage (again)
Playful and Vibrant Palettes: The Colourful Legacy of 2024 Lives On
In 2024, I saw an explosion of playful and vibrant palettes being sent over from Pinterest mood boards to wedding planner PDFs and judging from my 2025 orders so far, it looks like this trend will continue into this year - I love to see it!

The Rise of Bold Colours in 2025 Wedding Trends
Bold and stand-out colours are a great statement of individuality. I can already see that my 2025 wedding couples are again opting for the strong vibrant yellows, deep oranges and punchy pinks. It’s the perfect wedding palette for summer celebrations or modern city weddings.
The Most Colourful Wedding of 2024: Kate & Ian’s Bold Celebration at The Giraffe Shed
One of the most unforgettable weddings of 2024 was undoubtedly Kate and Ian’s vibrant celebration at The Giraffe Shed in Wales.
It was an honour to create my biggest-yet velvet wedding banners for Kate and Ian. I went all out ensuring every element matched their stunning vision. Each “BEWARE” was carefully colour-matched to their bespoke wedding colour palette and, of course, was all hand cut and appliquéd down in my Manchester textile studio (that’s right, nothing is printed here).
And let’s not forget the standout orange fringe to match Ian’s amazing illustrative suit, the fringe was sourced all the was from the USA specifically for their vibrant vision.

Kate and Ian’s wedding was a true masterpiece of colour, creativity and individuality, from the outfits, stationery and decor. They have, without a doubt, paved the way for bold colourful weddings in 2025.
2. Jewel Tones That Shine
Precious Hues: Jewel Tones Dominate 2025 Wedding Trends
Inspired by precious gemstones, jewel tones are on the rise, adding a layer of luxury and sophistication to your wedding day. I have already seen a huge increase in requests for my 'forest green' and 'deep blue' velvet for 2025 wedding banners.
Perfect for Autumn and Winter Weddings
Rich hues—like emerald green, peacock blue, and deep amethyst naturally compliment each other all while creating a regal atmosphere. Couple Rowy and Matt opted for our 'forest green' velvet base with a touch of metallic gold.

3. A Rustic Terracotta Charm
A Classic Choice: Terracotta’s Lasting Popularity
Since becoming a banner maker back in 2017, one colour has stood the test of time. Terracotta remains to this day, my most requested wedding banner fabric and it's clear why! It brings an element of warmth to any event.
Terracotta Twist for 2025: Welcome Sage
One of the hottest new trends for 2025 wedding colour palettes is the pairing of terracotta with sage; making for a perfect earthy duo blend. Terracotta brings a rich and warm depth to any wedding setting, while sage, on the other hand, stands as a perfect counterbalance. The muted soft green tones add a natural elegance without overpowering the terracotta.
I think this combination is particularly well suited for outdoor, autumnal weddings.
4. Bold Appeal of Juicy Red
Cherry Red: The Wedding Colour Taking Over 2025
A new contender in my books for trending wedding colours of 2025 is deep cherry red. I saw this rich colour request creeping into my books in late 2024 and before I knew it Pinterest Predicts announced "Cherry Coded" in their trending search terms for 2025. Pinterest Predicts were 100% spot on with 2024's trends so I, of course, treat it like gospel now.
Bold Reds and Timeless Neutrals: A Wedding Workshop
In February 2024, the incredibly talented photographer Mark Horton hosted CREATE – a hands-on, educational workshop designed for wedding photographers, which featured real couples. The photos from the day are a testament to how bold, red tones can shine in a wedding setting. The vibrant cherry red perfectly complemented the soft, muted neutral tones, creating a striking, yet sophisticated look.
5. Dreamy, Romantic Pastels
Blush pink, light blue, and lavender blend harmoniously to create a gentle elegance, ideal for sunlit ceremonies and dreamy receptions. And these soft pastel tones have been creeping up slowly in my 2025 summer wedding orders - I’ve stocked up on my light pink velvet fabric in preparation!
Soft Summer palette
A standout example was this soft summer shoot with Jeffie and Ru, a large baby blue fabric bow became a centre-piece along with a blush pink fabric backdrop which set a delicate tone for the dreamy photographs. Fabric backdrops like this one are a great addition to any wedding as they create soft and romantic focal points that the couple can customise to fit their overall aesthetic.

How to Choose the Perfect Colour Palette for Your Style
The perfect wedding palette is one that resonates with your vision, complements your venue, and reflects your unique style. Start with inspiration (I love a good Pinterest session for this), narrow down your options, and consider seasonal factors.
I often encourage couples to consider where their decor, such as a wedding banner, may be going post-wedding, this tends to help in making big decisions such as what the velvet base colour may be when the room colours at home are also considered.
I hope this blog, shaped by the creative fabric banner orders I've so far received for 2025, will help you find the palette that feels just right for you.
